Solcast By Sol Martinez

Episode 14 of the Solcast mix series by LA based dj Sol Martinez. Featuring originals and remixes by Carlita, AfroTura, Joeski, Hernan Cattaneo, and more talented artists.  I hope you vibe along to this.

After experiencing Ibiza in the summer, I brought some of that energy into this latest episode. Featuring the likes of Mano la Tough, Maceo Plex, Butch, Drumcode chief Adam Beyer and many other talented creators.

In the 12th installment of this mix series, the sound is a bit on the darker bass heavy side of the spectrum. Solcast 12 features some techno inspired breaks and house beats that are meant to set some warehouse style vibes. Some of the artists heard in this mix are Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Ricardo Baez, Enrico Sangiuliano, and many more including a special Coyu remix of the Moby classic "Natural Blues". I hope you feel the vibe on this one.

The last of the single digit episodes is upon us so I put some serious groove into this one. This episode kicks off with with the Catz 'n Dogz remix of Soul Clap's Ecstasy featuring Mel Blatt. Also featured in this mix are tracks and remixes by Riva Starr, Harry Romero, Michel Cleis, and many more.

It's been another busy year in video production for me, but a recent move to Los Angeles has allowed for a bit of time to get some mixes recorded. Here's some of the sounds I've had in my playlists from various parties in South Beach, Downtown Miami, and Downtown Phoenix in recent months. Love Frequency by Nick Holder kicks off this mix setting a lofty spacey vibe.

After taking some time to work on other media projects, I'm back in the music studio and playing a couple of gigs here in Miami and in Phoenix. Solcast 7 is a sampling of what the downtowns of these cities can expect to hear.

WMC 2012 is here and in my back yard! It still is a bit surreal that I live in this extremely unique city known as Miami. With the Winter Music Conference around it's a great time to bring up the energy level for this special WMC edition of the Solcast. Lots of heavy funky and driving house music in this one, including tracks and remixes by J Paul Getto, DJ Dan, Sasha, Alex Kenji, M.A.N.D.Y. & more. I'll be dj'ing the A2B pool party at the Marseilles Hotel 3/22, and Metro Beat at Sushi Samba 3/24. Hope you dig the mix... PAZ!

Attention, Solcast episode 5 is now online. We're just about a month away from WMC here in Miami and thoughts of sipping mojitos out on the ocean are hard to keep out of my mind. This episode starts out real basic, and the energy gradually kicks up and stays groovy. If you're a child of the 80's like me you'll also appreciate some of the samples on this mix... After a bit of a delay here is episode 3 of the Solcast. This is the first episode since I returned from Costa Rica and Phoenix, both places where I played shows that were really aimed at the deep house sound.
